FIVE-DAY PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP IN ATHENS

'BETWEEN THE HAMMER AND THE ANVIL'

DIRK BRAECKMAN AND BRAD FEUERHELM

March 29 - April 2nd

Athens, GR

Nearest Truth Workshops is proud to present a very rare collaborative limited-seat workshop with Dirk Braeckman and Brad Feuerhelm.

"Between the Hammer and Anvil" is less about technique than it is about the atmosphere of inner process. The workshop is going to encourage an on-the-ground approach to making images but the aim is to look less at daily contact sheets in favor of making work and producing images that are experimental and less series-driven. Critiques and reviews will commence, but it will not be the end goal. Experience is the end goal.

We will examine appropriation, reaction, and response. We will discuss approaches to making images that exist deeply buried in the self by exploring the psychological and subjective nature of images and will endeavor to encourage participants to engage deeply with their innate sense of image-making.

The course is limited to 14 seats. There are no early bird incentives for this workshop. Several seats have already been pre-sold and we suggest an early booking given the nature and rarity of the workshop with Dirk Braeckman.

Participants are encouraged to shoot digital. Labs are available for developing and scanning analog, but timing should be considered.

Submission begins on January 2

Submission closes on February 14

Price 850 Euro
