A workshop with
LUA RIBEIRA

Collective Experience

Athens, Greece, January 24-28th 2026

The workshop is proposed as a collective experience—combining the strength of working within a group with the development of each participant's individual voice. Together, starting from initial prompts proposed by Lua, we will select a concept to serve as our starting point and source of inspiration for creating images within a specific territory.

During the first days, we’ll focus on shooting and discussing each participant’s approach—exploring ideas, refining perspectives, and identifying how to develop the work further. We’ll immerse ourselves in the instinctive process of image-making.

In the final phase, we’ll shift towards reflecting on what we have made, the process of accepting and embracing the work. We will edit, select images, print, and shape each series. This will be a time for looking back at what we’ve created and thinking critically about how best to present the work in a (pop-up) exhibition context.

We will have access to a space to function as a gallery—this could be a traditional gallery, an empty building, or any alternative venue- I am open to finding an exciting space indoors or outdoors. The key is to explore and make thoughtful decisions around format, sequencing, and display that are true to the work in a particular given space.

Since I began working with photography, I’ve found the process of dissemination—how the work is presented to the world—to be one of the most challenging yet crucial aspects. Many decisions shape the final impact of the work, and they must be honest and coherent with its intent. I believe this part of the process is often overlooked.

This workshop is an invitation to create a lab-like environment where we can explore these questions together—digging deep into the possibilities of what it means to show photographic work on the wall.
