The Flora and Fauna of Athens
Zine Workshop
October 29th - November 2nd 2025, , Zoetrope Gallery, Athens
A photographic rampage through the streets of Athens examining the city and its life, both in terms of its Flora and Fauna. This 5-day zine-making workshop will give participants a healthy dose of photography in one of Europe's most historic cities. Included in this outing will be several assignments to areas outside the center of Athens, where participants will need to navigate the city in terms of its lived-in inhabitants. The structure of the zine will demand an in-depth discovery of these tropes. You can think about plants, trees, portraits, and cats, respectively.
Nikita Teryoshin is an artist known for his high-octane images of the backstage of warfare trade fairs, as well as his continued studies of cats, and his series Animal Escape Plan, which documents the farm life and ethical policies of our reliance on factory farming. His series, Backyard Diaries, explores the hidden world of urban cats. He is no stranger to the fauna of cities.
Please join us for this 5-day intensive workshop in Athens. You will need energy and good shoes. This will be a high-energy workshop.
Zines will be sent out following the workshop, as printing is available on the days after the seminar, once work has been finalized on the last day, Sunday of the workshop.
